MILNER PARK HOTEL
The redesign of a neglected and derelict corner commercial building of historical significance; one of the oldest surviving two-storey corner-bar and accommodation buildings remaining from the early days of Johannesburg. The building was left with a legacy of poorly considered alterations that had been added incrementally over decades. Work included the stripping out of these, the redesign of new horizontal and vertical circulation, new entrances, a new internal courtyard, refurbished upstairs offices and the design of ground floor commercial spaces which included two very popular nighttime bar and entertainment venues.
